Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t I just pour Drano down the drain to clear a blockage?

Please don’t! Drano is terrible because its harsh chemicals travel through sewer systems to rivers, lakes, and eventually the ocean, causing aquatic toxicity, changing water pH levels, and damaging or killing wildlife. These chemicals can also lead to long-term environmental damage and potentially contaminate food sources. At Flow State, we use high pressure water jetting or compressed air to clear your blockage - no chemicals required!

Why is my pipe outside leaking sewerage?

This means you have a blockage in your sewer drain somewhere underground. The pipe that is leaking is called the Overflow Relief Gully or O.R.G for short. This gully is installed on all dwellings, in the event of a blockage the backed up sewerage has somewhere to go other than your fixtures inside. Give the team at Flow State a call and we can clear your blocked drain with our high pressure water jetting equipment in no time.

Is pipe relining expensive?

Every job is different, but in most cases pipe relining often ends up being the cheaper option when compared to the conventional dig-up method.

Pipe relining is a trenchless method, meaning it avoids the high costs associated with cutting up slabs, driveways, or digging up backyards. No excavation means you save money on landscaping, concrete, and other restoration work.

Some things factored into the cost of relining are length of the damaged section of pipe, access to the damaged section of pipe, depth or location of the damaged section of pipe and volume of the pipe being relined.

How long does pipe relining last?

Here at Flow State we guarantee a minimum of 25 years on all pipe relining. Certain factors such as soil type and bedding support will contribute to your relined drain lasting upwards to 100 years.
